Hailing from Assinboine, Sask., Richards was a finalist for the UBC Okanagan Female Athlete of the Year last season following 226 kills and 191 digs in Canada West play.

So far this season it has been much of the same for the product of Assinboine High School, as she has 215 kills so far this season.

Earlier this season she set a new career-high with 22 kills in a match against the Saskatchewan Huskies in her home province.

Richards is the rare athlete at UBC Okanagan who enjoys the Arts as much as the competition, she will graduate with her degree from UBC's Okanagan campus in Fine Arts.
